Barcelona – perfect for a family break

If you are looking for a break away with your family – Barcelona is perfect. It has city, beach and loads to explore. It’s a bit of a favourite destination of mine – the kids always have a great time which means we can properly chill as well.

It’s a really family friendly city where children are welcomed and accepted and they are often out late as parents enjoy time out of the sun to have dinner and a drink or two.

Great places for families in Barcelona

Barcelona beach

Hit the beach – the sea is lovely and the beach, especially during the week, is relaxed with plenty of space. The facilities are good with toilets, showers, shops, bars and cafes and it is perfect for swimming, paddling and playing.

parc guell

Parc Guell – it gets very busy with tourists in the summer but it is beautiful and big and there is plenty of space to explore. It is full of stunning work by Gaudi, which needs to be seen.

sagrada familia

Sagrada Familia – another simply stunning Gaudi building and so worth the entrance fee

Jardins del laberint d’hortaJardins del laberint d’horta – these beautiful gardens and maze are well worth a visit with children

Montjuic

Montjuic – you can walk to the top or there is a cable car to take you to the castle, which provide a great view over barcelona. It is brilliant for kids to explore and there are tanks to play on too
