About Book Happy

Hannah and Cate know that stories tell us about communicating with and understanding the world, so Book Happy children learn to empathise and connect with those around them…

“Getting lost in a book is one of life’s pleasures, and even nicer when we can share the experience with someone we love. Engaging with stories helps children and grown-ups to make special connections with each other, with what they read and with the people who bring those stories to life in books.

We believe that fostering a love of books and stories in children will significantly help them to gain strong literacy and communication skills. We work with all younger children from pre-school age to Key Stage 2 (up until the end of primary school/Year 6). In younger children we aim to promote the key skills they need to be reading-ready through stories, songs, rhymes and general fun. For older children we introduce interactive games and activities to encourage improved confidence and communication.”
