Diary of a fat lass: slow progress

but I feel fantastic…

Progress is slow, there has been no massive transformation and I have been wondering if I should be stepping up the exercise and doing more. I gave myself a bit of a hard time over the summer because my normal routine shifted and it was harder to keep on top of it.

But I have shaken that off because I am still walking everywhere as much as I can, most days doing atleast 10,000 steps. And I am not snacking on unhealthy food, I am not eating after my evening meal and I am not eating when I am not hungry. These are huge changes and they seem to be sticking in place.

When tired or feeling a bit emotional I would normally retreat to the fridge and to the sofa and I would use the car all the time – I am changing this learned behaviour by still walking to work when I feel tired, going for a walk or doing some exercise when I feel a bit low or fed up. I feel healthier and stronger and that is brilliant. My next aim is to start yoga.

I have lost another 3 inches of fat from my body, clothes are becoming too big, my heartburn has gone and I feel more motivated than ever to be healthier and fitter. I think I’ve ditched the can’t be bothered mindset…
