Piccolo Music

Piccolo Music provides friendly, fun music and song sessions for babies and young children in Newcastle, North Shields and Cullercoats.

Piccolo sessions are relaxed and friendly, they are run by experienced Early Years Music Leaders who sing new and traditional songs and rhymes –  showing you all the actions and encouraging you and your children to join in. The pace is lively and full of beans!

For babies, there’s  tickly-cuddly songs and games, and gentle soothing songs. Toddlers can dance and move to the songs, enjoying puppets and playing instruments. The sessions are structured to maximise opportunities for children to join in, socialise, and develop their musicality, as well as being enjoyable for the adults – who go free!

Fairtrade tea and coffee and juice/water and biscuits, are included in the session

ABOUT US

They’ve provided the soundtrack for the lives of a generation – entertaining children and adults alike with their original music and award-winning songs.

Founded in March 2000, Piccolo Music have gone from strength-to-strength over the last 13 years. Offering the definitive Early Years experience, Piccolo’s ever-popular pre-school sessions have introduced innumerable infants to music, although this versatile group can boast rather more strings to their bow . . .

Under the astute leadership of co-founder Abi Cotton, Piccolo have spent several years delivering their inspirational workshops to children in schools and nurseries throughout North-East England.

The focus always on fun, Piccolo’s unique blend of original and traditional songs has captured the imagination of countless children – from babies to teens – and their parents (and grandparents, carers, aunties, uncles and friends) and encouraged a fast-growing number of teachers to use music as an invaluable educational aid.

Piccolo’s talented team also offer workplace training and consultancy services and LOVE to perform at special events – such as The Mouth of the Tyne Festival, Early Years Conferences– whenever the opportunity arises!
