Pregnancy Yoga in Newcastle

Pregnancy is one of the most exciting, scary, emotional and precious times in a woman’s life. Although it can sometimes be hard, and overwhelming, you will only ever be pregnant with this baby once, and it can go past so quickly.

Happy Yoga Newcastle Pregnancy Classes help you to appreciate the wonder that is happening inside you right now. They offer a supportive and non judgemental environment, where pregnant women can get together and enjoy learning Yoga that can help them to relax, build strength and stamina for labour, release oxytocin and alleviate common pregnancy ailments.

The classes typically focus on gentle stretching, breathing techniques as well as movements that are designed to keep you strong and relaxed. They are laid back and fun and there is always time to chat and make friends too. Don’t worry if you have never done yoga before, as the classes are suitable for all abilities.

Happy Yoga Newcastle Pregnancy Classes are held on:

Mondays: 7-8pm

Saturdays: 9.30-10.30am

I thoroughly recommend Jo’s antenatal yoga class. I started at 16 weeks. I was so nervous and anxious at the start of my pregnacy but found yoga has really helped me become a lot more confident and positive

I would highly recommend Jo’s pregnancy yoga class which I did from 13weeks. I found it very grounding when I was rushing around in a busy job and preparing for a baby. It gave me that protected time to bond with my bump. Jo is an excellent yoga teacher and very good at normalising worries about motherhood and it was a relaxed and friendly class. I learned that oxytocin rocks!

 About Jo

I have been practising Yoga my entire adult life, after falling head-over-heels in love with it at Drama School.
After graduating, I trained at a leading Yoga Academy and gained a 200 hours teaching qualification, specialising in Pre and Postnatal Yoga. I am accredited by the International Yoga Network, insured by the Independent Professional Therapists International (IPTI) and also hold qualifications in Children’s Yoga, Toddler Yoga, Baby Massage as well as David Sye’s Yogabeats, Four Step Foundation Course.

Working with women is my main passion in life and I have worked with over 150 pregnant women in Newcastle upon Tyne, supporting them through their pregnancy and beyond. It makes me so happy to see the difference that yoga can make to their confidence, physical comfort and general well being, and I feel so privileged to be able to work with women in such a transformational part of their lives.
