so who I am?

The Birth & Baby Network

Birth, Baby &  Family is me, Janine Rudin, and I offer services which I develop and facilitate. I possess a very unique range of training and experience so I provide antenatal classes and birth preparation support, postnatal groups, baby massage, relax & breathe and parent life coaching sessions. These sessions can be information-led but they can also be very personal as you can offload and share your emotions, concerns, worries and anxieties to get the support and reassurance you need. There really isn’t anywhere else where parents can talk through how they are feeling, admit if they are struggling and be heard in confidence and without any judgement. Tears, frustrations and exhaustion are all part of my working week along with smiles, laughter, friendships and good conversation, not to mention a lot of tea. I offer a personal service, to take the time to focus on you and your needs but who am I?

me at work…

I have worked with parents since I started my antenatal training in 2002 and I have worked almost constantly with parents since I graduated in 2005. In addition to my training and experience, I have a passion for supporting parents, to meet your different needs for information, support or reassurance.

Nothing phases me so you can talk openly and without judgement

Conversations and sessions are confidential

I have a calm and empathic approach to parents, babies and birth because we all have different needs

I don’t have an agenda – there isn’t one way to parent

I listen, support and suggest ideas but I don’t tell you what to do

I don’t judge anyone – I have three kids, parenting is really bloody tough

I am professional and respectful of everyone’s unique situation

I am here to provide a listening ear – as an advocate of mental health support, I provide a safe place to talk, offload, share and gain support when you need it

I encourage honest discussion – sometimes we can’t tackle a problem or change our expectations if we are not being open

I am a specialist in pregnancy, birth and early parenting – I know birth, I know babies, I know parenting and I know how varied it all is

But I don’t know everything and would never pretend that I do – I learn from all the parents I work with and I focus on listening to parents

I am trained to work with parents – I can facilitate groups so everyone can be heard, so that sessions are welcoming and friendly with no cliques

I am passionate about the work I do and I am fiercely protective of it and the parents I work with

I run a small business which has people at its heart, not making money – I’m not an ambitious businesswoman, I just want to work alongside parents and make a difference along the way

me in life

3 kids, 1 husband, handful of brilliant friends

All of my births have been different, all of my kids have been different

I like a simple life I try not to stress about the small stuff

I have experienced loss, trauma, depression and grief along with a lot of love, happiness and laughter

I am a ball of confidence and calm mixed with anxiety and self doubt

I like to laugh

I write and read for enjoyment and sanity

I love people and I love solitude

What you see is what you get – I am very down to earth and straight-forward, I am just me

In short, I love what I do and I think it makes a difference to some parents – even if it’s just making tea.

Please help me spread the word and reach more parents who might benefit from a specific session, some online support or a safe place to sit, relax and chat with their baby.
