The Tyneside Doula Service provides both birth doula and postnatal doula support. This means that I can be booked to attend the birth of your baby and I can be booked to provide support, reassurance and practical help in those early days and weeks with your new baby.
I am also an experienced antenatal teacher and postnatal group leader, I have worked with parents since 2002 and I am a mum to three children. As a doula, my role is to listen and to provide you with a personalised service so you are supported and so you can ask questions to be informed and reassured.
Being a birth doula means I can be on call for you from 38 weeks so I can be with you if you need support and reassurance in early labour and then I can provide you with ongoing, one-to-one support throughout your labour and birth.
Being a postnatal doula means I can visit you at home with your new baby to be on hand to help with the practicalities of feeding and sleep, as well as to listen and to answer any questions you have about your new baby and being a new parent.
