What is the Birth & Baby Cafe



The Birth & Baby Cafe is an informal group with plenty of chat, support, information and reassurance
when it’s needed.

The kettle will also be on and there is always cake!


When:  every Wednesday & Friday morning: 10.30-12 (£2.50)

and  two Saturdays a month: 10.30-12 (£3.50)

Who is it for: anyone with a bump, baby, toddler or preschooler

Where: The Birth & Baby Family Centre (in the East End Youth Club) George Street,
North Shields NE30 1EL – It’s just off Tynemouth Road, with plenty of free street parking and there’s
loads of space for prams.


There is:

tea, cake and fresh coffee

a safe, comfortable space for new and young babies

plenty of room and toys for crawling babies

a hall and toys/trikes for toddlers to play and run off some energy

a kitchen space with refreshments

a relaxing sensory den for babies and parents



The drop-in is run by Janine Rudin – a pregnancy, birth and early parenting specialist – who is on hand to answer questions and provide reassurance.
